Literature Text

The lush forest, alive and fearless, screamed in terror at the approaching menace.

It began as a peaceful morning. The sun shone upon the trees and birds sang and all was right in the world. A group of campers came to spend their weekend in the arms of Mother Nature.

But a quiet night around the glow of the campfire quickly became a disastrous turn of events. In mere minutes, the flames engulfed the first tree of many to come. It danced frightfully past every bush and pine tree and spread beyond each ravine. Woodland animals fled away in their dismay. Truly, it was a sight of awe and horror.

Charcoal graves now scatter the landscape.
FFM Day 21!! Word count: 116.

I attempted today's challenge, which in honor of Ernest Hemmingway, needed to include the following:
116 words long: Check.
Love, war, wilderness, or loss (pick 2): I picked wilderness and loss.
Polysyndeton?: Yup!!
Optional drinking?: I'm too young for that...but I wrote this late at night, so that should count, right?

I made this one about a forest fire. (PSA alert) As Smokey the Bear would say: "Only you can prevent forest fires."

Enjoy! :3
